Please comment on your role and day-to-day responsibilities.
Day to say responsibilities are generally very engaging, I think this varies from team to team but I am regularly involved in significant projects and a lot of important work.

Completing work that is sent through from my partners (Could include drafting or reviewing leases/licences/wills/easements/ company or trust resolutions etc - commercial property related documents)

I am enjoying my role and responsibilities - there are several other junior lawyers in my team and we are all learning together. My day to day responsibilities are mainly working for one client, but I do get to help out work for other clients when needed.
Graduate, Christchurch
Most of my work is set at the right level. I have an engaged partner who gives me clear direction and feedback. Our team also has a great assistant to help with the administrative tasks. I usually find myself at the right balance of being confident in my abilities while being challenged.

My day to day is very dependent on what work is fed down to me by my supervising partner. When I receive instructions, because we sit closely it is good to be able to turn around and ask questions quickly. I will be responsible for drafting emails and documents, researching and giving my view on matters. I often can sit in on calls and meetings, and am in direct correspondence with clients.

Important, interesting work for big companies.

I thought as an intern I would spend a lot of my time doing the 'grunt' work, but I have been lucky enough to be involved in some really interesting work such as researching for a litigation taking place, getting involved in interviewing for an investigation etc.
Intern, Auckland
I come in each day and help my colleagues and Partners to conduct research, draft documents and emails, review files and help them to form legal advice. Something really fantastic about Lane Neave is that you truly get so much hands on time with real work for real clients. I also get my own time to complete online training modules, work on things for our Christmas Party, and learn the IT systems. Other responsibilities for Summer Clerks include restocking the drinks fridge and helping out with some social events.
Intern, Christchurch
What I love most about the work that I am given is that the tasks and areas of law I work on are so diverse and interesting. I have been given real hands on work such as researching, writing memorandums and even handing in an affidavit to the High Court Registry. The areas of law I have been able to work on have varied from relationship property to wills and even company law. I am thoroughly enjoying what I do.

I work on tasks as passed on to me mainly by the solicitors on my team. I haven't had too much work that I've been passionate about, but I really enjoy working with this team.

As a summer clerk, I answer to every person in my team. It is my job to take on any work that I'm given. This ranges from preparing company constitution amendments, to researching, to writing articles.
Intern, Christchurch
There is not a lot of work to do, most days I am training myself for the majority of the day. The work is also not super relevant to my studies, but can be interesting though!
