What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
I am okay with my pay, but knowing that project managers and line managers get paid far more than engineers makes me a bit uncomfortable.
Graduate, Melbourne
Pay is sufficient, but not spectacular. Of my friends from university, I am the lowest paid. BUT I have the best working conditions.

it's not directly related to our performance.

Its great as of now and I've got no reasons to not be satisfied with current pay.

I am personally happy with my pay after circumventing the formal promotion process mentioned previously. But generally, and especially for younger professionals, people are not compensated fairly for the work they do. This is the #1 reason that our graduate retention is so low. The bonus scheme, however, is quite generous and I feel fairer than many other companies. Depending on the performance of your market area, all technical staff receive a flat % of their salary as a bonus each year.

Personally, I think it's better after the recent change, but based on my research on the market for my role, it is still less than the average. In terms of bonuses, other similar software/tech companies are offering bonuses of 15-20%. Ericsson's bonus is only 5%, which is a large difference on top of the disparity in pay already. However, for my colleagues in other teams, I understand the situation is much worse. This is compounded with the previously mentioned issues about career progression. Especially given the current situation of the economy and raising prices of properties, it is absolutely something that needs to be addressed.

I am satisfied with my pay rate at my current job stage.

Base salary is below avg but bonuses can be good in a good year

Need a raise compared to the workload.

Pay is sub par. The only bonuses are the perks of work flexibility and the quality of people. Majority of the recognition is directed at managers and since the Ericsson all stars has replaced Encore, it seems there is even less recognition .

What are your company's best or most unusual perks? For example: free tickets, free dinners, moving expenses, taxis, pension, etc.
The ability to work whatever hours you choose, ALL from home trumps everything. We have a bonus/recognition system that recognises good work with monetary rewards. We can buy gift cards for discounts which means groceries, fuel, movie tickets, sporting goods can all be bought at a discount.

We get subsidised phones and free phone plans

Leave policies are good, and recently have gotten better with new policies around maternity leave and domestic violence leave. We have paid-for dinners once every 6 months. Other than that, we don't really get much else.

Good quality free technical trainings & study material, good office environment and excellent IT and work from home infrastructure that the company provides us. We do get recognitions from All Stars but I don't see any monetary value in it.

no special perks besides the 1 day we get for volunteering

Discounts on several retails.

Other than work flexibility I cannot think of any work perks. The examples given in the question don't seem to apply to my role or team to which I'm aware of
